How it all started
Back in late 2016, we made the decision to return to John's homeland of South Australia after having spent just over ten years in Karin's hometown, Landau in der Pfalz. The intention was to return for the period of 12 months to give our German-born twin boys a taste of Australian education. It's 2026 now and our boys are both studying at Bond University. Must be the sunshine?
Sensing an opportunity upon return to Australia, we teamed up with French producers of Thin French Pizza, known in Europe as Flammekueche to supply us with their authentic and meticulously produced bases.
Together with our twin boys, we launched our Alsatian delicacy as "Flammekueche" at Plant 4 Bowden in inner-north Adelaide. Since then, Flammekueche, now "Thin French Pizza" has grown to become both a much-loved menu item and kitchen staple across venues and homes, respectively.
Today, we provide both homes and venues throughout Australia with what was previously a hard-to-find Alsatian delicacy.
